For yesterday’s outreach event, I asked the coordinator if I could setup at a more visible area, closer to the market. BOY, am I glad I did – I had a TON of people stop by! There were some nice sunspots, and some beautiful prominences. I had a couple meteorites with me, and one young man called his dad on his cell: “Dad! Dad! I’m holding a meteorite!”
As I was packing up, a fellow was eying my Dob, and asked if he could look? I repositioned the Dob back on the Sun for him to see, and was grousing about my cheap eyepieces, and he asked if I had a Nagler? I stopped, turned and looked at him, raised one eyebrow and said: “If you’re asking me THAT question, I’m giving you this!” – I handed him a Warren Astronomical Society business card.
