These are the first photos taken with my camera attached directly to my telescope with a T-Ring and camera adapter!
The first thing I noticed was how much larger objects appeared in the camera finder than I was expecting – I had to use different eyepieces to decrease magnification… and I’ve recently discovered that my eyepieces are pretty marginal :/ I also need a better Moon filter – because when full, the Moon is still blindingly bright!
I tried using the “Live View mode” on the LCD display, but could not focus any better than using the eyepiece… Time to chat-up the astrophotographers in my astronomy club.
The Moon was bright, the sky was hazy, with intermittent clouds. Jupiter was low in the sky, and terribly washed out.
