Not a whole lot in the way of of prominences. Sunspot 1339 creeping towards the center of the sun. Had a hard time focusing with any of my eyepieces – clear skies, but a lot of air turbulence.
Baby Bath Time
I washed the mirror in my Orion 8 inch Dobsonian telescope, for the first time in the 11 years I’ve had it – it was filthy, and I was scared. Then, I had to re-colliminate… and I think I need some guidance, again…
Took my Dobsonian out and looked at:
Jupiter – 4 moons, 2 cloud bands.
The Moon – nearly full.
Double-Double (Epsilon Lyrae) – did not see a lot of improvement in resolution at high magnification… could be my eyepieces, could be needs better collimation.
NGC 6910 (The Rocking Horse Cluster, in Cygnus). A personal favorite – I found it years ago by scanning back and forth thru Cygnus.
80% clear skies. Lots of moisture in the air. The moon was washing out everything.
